About the Maan Family
Maan Farms is run by Kris and Devinder Maan, with the help of their 4 children: Preena, Gurleen, Amir and Gaurav. They live beside their Townline Road location.

Maan Farms started in 1977 by Jawaharand Gurbachan Maan (grandpa and grandma), with the help of their 3 children. They started with growing cole crops (cauliflower, broccoli and brussel sprouts) and later on shifted to growing berries: strawberries and raspberries, and also corn. In 1982, Grandpa and Grandma started a roadside stand on their farm at 1136 McKenzie Road in Abbotsford. Here, they began to sell their own berries. With the help and support of the local community and faithful repeat customers, their berry stand grew in popularity. Grandpa Maan was known in the area as the one who grew the juiciest red strawberries in the Fraser Valley. Grandma used to stand at the berry stand all day, while Grandpa worked in the field with the help of his only son, Kris.

In 1994, Maan Farms went into the hands of the next generation: Kris and his wife, Devinder, when Grandma passed away and Grandpa retired. Their selection of available products grew: berries, fruit, vegetables, pie, ice cream (and now, even jams!)
These days, the children of the third generation are playing a big part in running the business. In the past few years, Preena and Gurleen, in particular, spent a lot of time and effort on the family business, spending their summers at the berry stands selling the variety of foods they offered. They have now both moved on towards pursuing their university studies. Amir and Gaurav are now their parents main helpers on the farm. They both help with the tractor work with Dad, sell berries at the berry stands, scoop ice cream, and greet customers. Come in and meet them this summer or fall!
